Prof. Dr. Nahlah Elkudssiah Ismail graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (Hons) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in the year 2000 with Pharmacy Board of Malaysia registration in 2001. Prof. Dr. Nahlah successfully awarded a PhD degree (Distinction Report) in the field of clinical pharmaceutics at Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation (IPI) and School of Pharmacy, University of Bradford, Bradford, United Kingdom (UK) in July 2005. With experience gained over two decades of work in the academia, community pharmacy, hospital, clinic, vaccination centre, research centre, and industries, to date, she has taught more than 75 courses to diploma, degree and postgraduate students in United Kingdom and Malaysia using innovative teacher- and student- centered learning. As the pioneer of clinical pharmaceutics in Malaysia, she is the founder of the first Clinical Pharmaceutics Research Group (CPRG) (2008) in Malaysia and that was later acknowledged as Clinical BioPharmaceutics Research Group (CBRG) under Research Initiative Group (RIG) by Research Management Institute (RMI), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The CBRG comprised of Inhalational Delivery Lab (IDL), Biomedical Analysis Lab (BAL) and Honey Research Lab. IDL was the first in Asia comprising all pivotal facilities in analyzing particles deliveries emitted from various medical devices including nasal spray, metered dose inhalers, spacers, dry powder inhalers, and various types of nebulisers, industrial and domestics sprays, as well as environmental air quality assessment ranging from nano to micro sizes of particles. Prof. Dr. Nahlah holds membership in various local and international pharmacy and health based organizations. She has been publishing more than 250 publications including reputable research journal articles, proceedings, chapters in books, books and magazine. She has been invited to deliver lectures, talks (guest of honour/keynote/plenary/distinguished/eminent speaker) and conduct workshops at local and international events as well as a reviewer and editorial board member for local and international journals, and serve organizing committee members in various conferences. Research area of interest mainly in the field of pharmaceutics (drug delivery; nanotechnology; inhalational deliveries), pharmaceutical analysis (method development, detection and validation), clinical pharmacy, pharmacy education and leadership, pharmacy practice, public health, neurobehavioural-psychosocial, pharmaceutical policy, complementary and alternative medicines. She is also actively participating in honey, plant and animal modelling studies in exploring and defining new therapeutic entity. Prof. Dr. Nahlah had been awarded research and travel grants as well as awards and medals in national and international scientific invention, innovation and design exhibitions, competitions, conferences, and community services. As a senior clinical pharmacist and a teacher-practitioner, she was one of the regular invited guests for radio UFM Malaysia under segment “U & Health†covering numerous health topics as well as one of the invited speakers for leadership and soft skills development. She has been as the Chairman and member of Boards of Studies for Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons), Master in Clinical Pharmacy, Master and PhD studies, involving heavily in curriculum review, audits, recognition and accreditation affairs. Holding various posts at different senior management levels at different institutions, currently, Prof. Dr. Nahlah is the Council Member of Malaysian Academy of Pharmacy. She is enthusiastically advocating vaccination against COVID-19 and consequently appointed as one of the healthcare professional frontliners for medical and pharmaceutical roles at various Vaccine Administration Centres (VACs) covering populations of adult, geriatric, adolescent and children.
Prof. Dr. Md. Moklesur Rahman Sarker is currently working as a Professor and Head of Academic & Research Affairs in the Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh. He is also serving as the Head of Institutional Animal Ethics Committee and Executive Member of Human Ethics Committee/Institutional Review Board of the State University of Bangladesh. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of State University (a program of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh). He is also serving as the Founder and Chief Researcher of Health Med Science Research Network (a non-profit research organization based in Bangladesh), Managing Director of HMS Solutions Limited (Bangladesh), and Honorary Professor, Department of Health Sciences, Novel Global Community Education Foundation, Australia. He has obtained PhD in Immunopharmacology from Okayama University (Japan), and Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy degrees from Jahangirnagar University (Bangladesh). He has over 22 years experiences of working in different academic and research institutions in Bangladesh and other countries. In the past, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Visiting Research Fellow and Principal Investigator of High Impact Research Project in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya; Head of Pharmacology Department, Coordinator for Post-Graduate Program, Chairman of Animal Ethics Committee, and Head of Animal Experimental Unit of Lincoln University Malaysia; Head of Pharmacy Department in Daffodil International University (Bangladesh) and also worked in national and multinational Pharmaceutical companies in different capacities. He is a GCP certified Clinical Researcher endorsed by the DG Health of Malaysia, and “A” grade Pharmacist registered in Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh. Prof. Moklesur is an experienced researcher and supervisor of high-impact research projects. He is currently supervising/ conducting 9 research projects (including 3 funded projects). In the past, he has supervised 196 students and researchers (Postdoc, PhD, Master and undergraduate) and completed 165 research projects on Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences. He has secured several national and international research grants as Principal Investigator including Grants for Advance Research on Education (GARE) for 2020-2023 from the Ministry of Education (Bangladesh) for the development of novel immunobooster to fight against COVID-19 and other infections; secured Special Research Grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology (Bangladesh) for the 3 consecutive years 2022-23, 2020-21, and 2019-20 for diabetes, immunity and toxicological research; Research grant for the development of anticancer Prophetic medicine against brain tumor (GBM) from the MABL Chair for Prophetic Medicine, Taiba University (Saudi Arabia), Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia; and Several Contract Research Projects on liver disease, kidney disease, hyperlipidemia, chemotherapy induced diarrhoea, Parkinsons disease, cancer, and erectile dysfunction from different research institutions and industries. He is an innovator of 3 research products patent (patent pending): antidiabetic (Dia-Best®), lipid lowering (H-Card®), and immunobooster (Super-Boost®) novel preparations/therapeutics/adjuvants. So far he has published 113 scientific articles (total impact factor 273.597) in peer reviewed journals including high impact factor journals published by Elsevier, Wiley, Frontiers, MDPI, Taylor & Francis, Springer-Nature, BioMed Central, etc.. He is serving as the Editor-in-Chief in Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology; Co-Editor-in-Chief in Healthmed Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Editorial Board Member of several journals including Frontiers in Bioscience-Landmark (Impact Factor: 4.009), Frontiers in Pharmacology (Impact Factor: 5.988), Frontiers in Endocrinology (Impact Factor:5.55), Frontiers in Chemistry (IF: 5.545), Molecules (IF: 4.927), International Journal of Pharmacology (IF: 0.701), etc. He is also serving as a Reviewer of 35 peer reviewed international SCI-indexed impact factor journals. His published articles received 1854 citations in google scholar with H-index 24 and i-10-index 45. He has received 1004 Scopus citations with H-index 18 and 867 Web of Science citations with H-index 17. Prof. Moklesur focuses on translating research findings from bench to bedside. His research goal is to develop novel formulations of functional foods, nutraceuticals and phytomedicines with the scientific evidences of in silico, preclinical, clinical and toxicological studies for the prevention and treatment of emerging diseases to avoid major side-effects of contemporary drugs. His research expertise include In- vitro, In-vivo, Clinical Research; In-silico techniques and Computer-Aided Drug Design, discovery and development; Pharmacological, Toxicological, Immunological studies; Diabetes mellitus; Hyperlipidemia and Fatty liver; Cancer research; Immunomodulating agents; Phytochemical extraction and analytical techniques; Formulation, development and commercialization of innovative products for the management of diseases; Prophetic medicines, phytomedicines/herbal medicines, functional foods & nutraceuticals; Food-drug interactions; and emerging public health issues. His research team is currently focusing on the discovery and development of alternative medicines (herbal/phytomedicines, nutraceuticals, functional foods) for the treatment/management of diabetes, cancer, immunity, obesity/hyperlipidemia, fatty liver and aphrodisiac problems with minimum or without side-effects. He has attended 25 national and international conferences, workshops and scientific seminars as Keynote speaker, Invited speaker and/or Oral presenter and bagged several awards as the best speaker. In the year 2015, he delivered his scientific presentation on his discovery of antidiabetic medications in Harvard University, USA, which was highly appreciated by the high level scientists from Harvard Medical School, National Institute of Health (USA), and scientist and academicians from different universities of USA and other countries. Prof Moklesur is a member of several professional bodies, such as Academic Society of Functional Foods and Bioactive Compounds - USA, American Association of Cancer Research, Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, Pharmaceutical Society of Japan, Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society, American Society of Microbiology, and Bangladesh Pharmacy Graduates’ Association. He has been listed as a Top Researcher of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences by the AD Scientific Index securing 1st position in State University of Bangladesh, 14th position in Bangladesh, 767th position in Asia, and 2623th position in the World. Dr.Syed Safiullah Ghori is a renowned researcher having more than 15 years of teaching and research experience. He has completed his graduation in 2004 and post graduation in 2007 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad in the field of Pharmacy. Having specialization in Pharmacology, he completed Ph.D in Pharmacology in the year 2018.He has more than 35 research publications in well known national and international indexed journals. He has authored two books on Pharmacovigilance and chronopharmacology respectively. Recently he has published a patent in the title “Formulation of organic and non-organic components for rapid wound healing and control of infection in diabetic patientsâ€. He has guided 70 postgraduate students and 30 graduate students in the field of pharmacology. He is also recipient of Best Teacher award, Best researcher award and Young Scientist award.
