She is also a researcher at CONICET which is a multidisciplinary Institute of Plant Biology (IMBIV) and also the member of National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET). Prof. Dr. Maria Gabriela Paraje also served as the Visiting Professor, UNESCO Chair on Sustainability (CUS) at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona (Spain). She has published book chapters and many articles in peer-reviewed journal and also participated in the several international conferences across the globe and honor with the various awards. Prof. Freisleben has a pharmaceutical and medical background from Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) holding a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) and a Doctor of Medical Science (Dr.rer.med.) majoring Biochemical Pharmacology, Medical Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine. After his Postdoc at the University of Berkeley (CA, USA) and his German “Habilitation” with a Dr. habil. in Physiological Chemistry he was appointed Assistant Professor (Priv.-Doz.) as Head of the Laboratory of Microbiological Chemistry at Frankfurt University (1988-1993). In 1993, he took over a Human Capital and Mobility Project of the European Community on “iron overload and oxidative stress in thalassaemia” at the University Hospital of Patras (Greece) and the University of Palermo (Italy) followed by a Guest Professorship at the University of Graz (Austria). Then, Prof. Freisleben assigned as Subject Matter Consultant Medicine to the Six Universities Development and Rehabilitation (SUDR) Project in Indonesia and was appointed Professor of Biomedical Pharmacology at the Medical Faculty of Universitas Indonesia in 1998. From 1999 until 2001, he was a visiting Professor to the University of Sydney (Australia) with a cooperation project on thalassemia patients from Jakarta (Indonesia). He returned to Germany and was elected President of the German-Indonesian Medical Association, German Section (DIGM e.V.). In 2009, Prof. Freisleben returned to the Universitas Indonesia as Head of the Medical Research Unit. From 2015, he has been Professor emeritus, still supervising doctoral students. Prof. Freisleben authored and co-authored about 150 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and books and contributed to about 200 scientific congresses around the globe. He is a co-founder of the Indonesian Societies of Toxicology and of Free Radical Research, a member of several international professional associations and an often-awarded reviewer and a member of the Editorial Board of several scientific journals. He was also awarded by various universities and frequently as an invited speaker in international congresses.

Graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Ankara University and completed her doctorate thesis using TUBITAK National Doctoral Fellowship at the same school. She received the title of professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy Faculty of Pharmacy Istanbul University (1995) and worked there till 2012. She has been working at Near Eat University Faculty of Pharmacy since 2013. She is the director of the Phytotherapy Master and PhD Programs. Research topics: The medicinal plants, phytomedicines and complementary therapy methods (phytotherapy, aromatherapy, apitherapy, homeopathy) and also active compounds of plants, isolation, structure determination and biological activities. She worked and made several scientific researches, respectively in Germany Berlin-TU and Saarland University (2,5 years), USA-The University of Georgia (NATO Research Grant and Fulbright Fellowship - 2 years). She has more than 250 articles, 3 books and 2 chapters in international books. She gives conferences and seminars on herbal pharmaceutical products that are organized by physicians, pharmacists, consumer protection and similar non-profit organizations. She has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacists from 2002-2006 and 2008 - 2013.

Prof. Dr. Ali Hikmet Meriçli enrolled in 1969 in Istanbul University, Faculty of Pharmacy and was graduated in 1973. Subsequently he joined the assistant staff of the Pharmacognosy Department of Istanbul University, Faculty of Pharmacy. He got his Ph. Degree in 1978 and in 1984 he won the title of associated proffessor, six years later than that, in 1990, he was given the professor title. He made several scientific researchs in Germany (Pharmacognosy Department of Free University, Organic Chemistry Department of Berlin Technical University, Pharmacognosy and Analytic Phytochemistry Department of Saarland University), Spain (Natural Organic Compounds Research Institute, Tenerife) and USA (Institute for Natural Products Research of The University of Georgia). Since September 2013, he is working at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacognosy of Near East University in Cyprus. Dr. Sawsan Abuhamdah is a Jordanian registered Pharmacist, has completed her PhD from Durham University, UK and postdoctoral studies from Granada Medical School, Department of Pharmacology, Spain and has won postdoctoral Fulbright Research Award at the University of Toledo, Department of pharmacology and experimental therapeutics, Ohio, USA, 2014-2015.Promoted to associate professor in 2014 at the faculty of pharmacy, University of Jordan, and now acting as Deputy Dean, College of Pharmacy, Al Ain University of Science and technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr. Abuhamdah has published many original research articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in the preparation of many symposium abstracts. Dr. Abuhamdah is a member of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS), British Neuroscience Association (BNA), Sigma Phi Sigma pharmaceutical Sciences Honor Society, University of Toledo, USA, Jordan Pharmaceutical Association and has been she has been serving as an editorial board member of reputable pharmaceutical journals.
Torgny H. Svensson
Dr. Svensson, M.D. is Professor of Pharmacology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm since 1983 and has been a member of the Nobel Assembly for about 20 years. He received his M.D./ Ph.D. degrees from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and subsequently spent several years in the US, working both at Yale University Medical School, Depts. of Pharmacology and Psychiatry, and at The Salk Institute, La Jolla, CA. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Pharmacology, and is the author of about 300 scientific publications, among them seminal papers in Science, Nature and Neuron and several patent applications, and has been an invited speaker at innumerous international meetings. He has in addition served as scientific advisor to several academic institutions and drug companies and has received numerous awards and honors, among them the ECNP Lilly Neuroscience, Basic Science Award in 2000 and The Kraepelin-Alzheimer Medal, University of Munich, in 2008. Dr. Svensson served as President of the Scandinavian College of Neuro-Psychopharmacology 2001–2005 and as President of the Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (CINP) 2006–2008. His major scientific contributions concern the regulation and function of brain monoamine systems, the mode of action of antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs and various augmentation strategies, as well as the neurobiological basis of nicotine dependence and its treatment.
